He wasn't in the team in the first place - bench spot at best

No, as he has a contract for another 12 months he's in the squad no matter what.  Like last year he's unlikely to see much game time.

The (lack of) signings is really quite worrying and it seems the World Cup has really had a massive effect on our preparation which is rather annoying to be honest. It almost seems as if nothing was going on at all while Ricki was preparing and taking part in it.
i like it when you are worried about things, as you are always proved wrong

Opposition defenses would s*** themselves if they saw two Ifills running at them. Can we sign Devani but keep it a big secret?

This Davani guy sounds interesting. I want to see him play now.

Made me only just think that other Oceania players would be considered imports. This never really struck me but thats the obvious reason why we dont get many from the islands. Wonder if this guy has  aus citizenship? hes played in aus a few years i think?

Davani has played at least 5 seasons in Australia so you'd think he'd have had the good sense to get residency or something.  He's played here about the same time actually also.  Would he be an import?

This is what I wonder? But I guess at 30 hes really gotta be up to it. Especially as we hav a few wide players. The same goes for BAMBANG (Its really has to be capitalised i feel ) .

Really hope North signs

Don't think so.  There was a game against hekari but that isn't happeneing and talk they may play the U20's but I think that would be next week.

Unlikely, friendlies are usually played midweek, yesterday being an example. I'm guessing that we'll see Nix v. NZ U20 at Porirua Park next Wednesday, but that's based of history rather than any statement from the club (other that "we hope to play an NZ U-20 side").

If so then i reckon there is a small chance for Bambang to make it to big 20.

If he trains well we'll sign him as number 21, but it needs North signed first to make room for him.

North is signed, so I guess that means BamBam is too. Result.

Not necessarily. He's on trial, he's not a definite signing. I think we should be patient with this one. We've defintely got time on our side.

i like the look of Bambang, but surely now we should really be trialling him and even bringing in some other players, even a marquee quality striker?

i think we have to sign one more striker, who will be foreign I assume, plus would like to still see some sort of left sided defender signed. Especially with Ricki contemplating 343. And give Lochy some competition

+ Bambang has low reputation here. Didnt he play against New Zealand under-20 in Jakarta? i think it was in 2008. I remember seeing Chris Killen struggling with the temprature

We'll sign 21 at the most at this stage of the season.

Last season we had just Greenacre as a striker (pretty much), now we have added MacAllister and Pav, plus a chance of Bambang and you think we need more ?

Particularly if the youth things gets of the ground and we can move those lads in and out for injury cover...

No I was saying that we may probably sign another striker and that could be Bambang but I don't think we should neccessarily limit ourselves to signing him up straight away, as we could look at other options too.

in saying that, I like the looks of him

I really hope Bambang trials well. Aside from the obvious reasons of adding another good striker to the squad and the hours of fun for young and old in having a player called Bambang it sends a great message to the AFC.

Message; Park the politics, it's about what's good for football - an Asian player playing for an OFC team - everyone wins.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

...but we can't park the politics, we're holding both Australian and New Zealand football back... why can't anyone see !!!  30,000 people at a game is destroying us all !!!

We're also doing our best to ruin Asian football too.

Trialling an Indonesian player, how evil is that? The poor guy may get a cold here.

Also siphoning off talent from South America too - Daniel, Diego, now Toto...

If the evil Phoenix empire isn't stopped soon, it'll be a death sentence for football in the southern hemisphere.
