It was a pretty good game. Tevez had an alright game. Popped up in the right place for his second, penalty was a little dodgy with first contact made a reasonable distance outside of the box. Best game from Rooney in a while, creating a couple of chances out of nothing. Plenty of penetration on the flanks from Utd, just not much through the middle.
It appears MUFC is not content with turning the EPL into spend to win contest but in fact totally dismantling any credence to the game belonging to the community.
actually be good for English football to kick them out, come back when ya house is in order and when your finances are not destabilizing the competition to the detriment of 99% of fans.
shame, shame, shame.
E's Flat Ah's Flat Too

when two of the great sides of the English domestic game are in such financial disarray it's more than time to get that broom out.
525 000 000 pounds borrowed to buy MUFC
some of this was from hedge funds @ 14.25% interest
despite record turn-over in 2008 (and winning Prem and CL)
the interest on this still means an operating loss of 45 000 000 pounds
the majority of the turnover profit is local... in that it's ticket sales/Old Trafford
less than 2% is from overseas
so if MUFC totally disenfranchise the locals exactly how is this economic program sustainable?
not that I am suggesting it is anyway...

I don't think it was Atherton, was someone on debut, definitely a pom, and Mark Waugh told him that he 'didn't belong out here playing test cricket' to which the player made your classic reply.
Not a fan of that tbh.
The ref was poor == both ways. Trevez was great, he is a prick- I never liked him when he was at Utd. I reckon Utd were the better side and even if the team was not the stongest they were the better side. 58% possession tells me that they had the better of the game.
Not happy with the result but they played well enough to suggest that they wiil win the return game neaxt week.
If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!
Yeah noticed he actively celebrated - more rubbish from 'Billy Bulls**t' Tevez!

Some titbits from the story:
[quote]Manchester United's parent company's overall debt has swelled to 716.5 million, latest accounts reveal...
Red Football Joint Venture paid out 68.5 million in interest on their debts in 2009 but unlike the previous year, returned an overall profit of 6.4 million in 2009. In 2008, they returned a 47 million loss.
The profit can almost entirely be explained by the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid in the summer for 80 million.
Red Football Joint Venture's accounts record an 80.7 million profit on ''disposal of players'' compared to a 21 million profit in 2008.
this seems to be what you say to everyone who supports a top 4 club
do you not believe that supporters of good teams can also be loyal to their team?

Well, it is getting more attention as previous seasons we had still been able to spend money on improving the squad; Berbatov a couple of seasons ago as an example. This season, really last 18 months, has seen us sell Ronaldo, not take up the option for Tevez, even cancel planned transfers such as Adem Ljajic (Belgrade saying that Man Utd pulled out due to cost involved, while Man Utd were saying he wasn't good enough or work permit issues, both arguments dont make sense as Tosic joined Man Utd supposedly as part of the deal for Ljajic and got a permit and Fiorentina has just signed Ljajic to a 5 year contract, so he must be decent, if the money was flowing SAF would have taken the gamble on the potential of an 18 year old). The credit crisis would have surely had a large affect on the Glazers and Man Utd considering the size of their debts.
