Well, I did apply for the social media job they had advertised, which included the website. Could have done a much better job than that.

Not my fault they're uneducated fudges at FFA HQ.

Did he have any success coaching in the A-League?

Here's the Burgess article. Interesting that is says:

'However, he's been a behind-the-scenes man for most of his coaching career, so the transition to the weekly pressure would be the biggest hurdle.'

Thats quite an interesting article. He wouldn't pull that name out the thin air so must have a source.

Considering the volume of Ramon for AWs and Ramon for Phoenix articles the Herald and Stuff churned out in the last 6 months without any of them doing any actual research about his eligibility I'm not listening to anything until I see a press release from the Phoenix.

I can't comment on his coaching ability but he was one of the most quiet, modest blokes around. The opposite of Bozza or Robbie Slater if you will.  As a young man I was a paid up member of Sydney City and from time to time we had "meet the team" sessions in Bondi organised by Eddie Thomson.  I got to talk to J-P as we were of similar age and had a common experience of being a young migrant in Sydney.

If he is still like that, then he would be an older, more world-weary version of Chris Greenacre, with a bit of more coaching under his belt.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Just rereading the Burgess story which suggests Marigny is a potential candidate. Not a front runner, or even on a short list. This whole process seems to be taking forever. Hey, let's throw caution to the wind and hire Alan Pardew. Not likely to be in big demand anywhere else, anytime soon, and he knows how to win at the ROF. Got to count for something. ;)

Mr Morrison and Mr Dome and the other secret guys,

We NEED to hire a Coach by Friday. There are only TWO (Number 2 - for Gareth who talks only in positive figures and minuses in cats) GAMES LEFT for a Coach to assess the team - who to let go and who to retain -IF they are there to retain - already Victory have offered a contract to Storm Roux of the Mariners for next season - please please PLEASE appoint SOMEONE.

This Marigny chap sounds like he should definitely be on our radar IMO.

I thought the shortlist was shortlisted 2 weeks ago, so I am hoping it isn't one of those hospital waiting type lists that don't keep elongating with urgent other situations.

I just assumed Marigny was as mad as a meat axe. Always seems to be doing his nut in approved Muscat style and I'm pretty sure he's been redcarded and suspended multiple times for abuse of officials and opposition coaching staff. Definitely doesn't seem world weary or much like Greenie!

Mind you, abusive coaches are de rigueur nowadays. Greenie and Ernie are honourable exceptions.

Grim odds (and some new additions) from Sybill's teapot..

But there will be some unexpected delay in getting their preferred man to sign on the dotted line and it will be midway through the offseason before a new coach is confirmed. Nix management will say it was worth the wait to get their man, and they are confident he will not only avoid the wooden spoon in the coming season, but has promised the club will finish no lower than 7th.

Within weeks of being announced - he has a long planned holiday he has to take first - the new coach will immediately start working with the full squad which consists of the five remaining players who are still on contract, with Chris Morgan making up the practice squad so they can play 3 aside.

In a way it's worse than that.

Let's imagine this happened at your every day work.

The boss just got fired

You think shark that ain't good

Those with contracts next year think shark, who is going to manage me next year?

Those whose contracts are expiring in a few weeks are thinking shark do I have a job next year? What about my kids and mortgage?

Those whom are great potential employees are thinking I'm not joining an organisation when I don't know who will be my boss

Clients (us) don't have much confidence in an organisation whom have fired the boss and don't have a permanent replacement.

Sponsors likewise

Potential sponsors more so

Some noise and positive spin at least needs to be made by the owners  (i.e: we have interviewed some great applicants and very shortly we will have some one on board).

A bit of communication ain't difficult.

You don't have to say we have signed sealed and delivered but you do need to communicate

These owners are meant to be busines savvy.

If they are then they wouldn't be running their own business like the way they are handling this situation.

The nIx feel like an after thought

These guys might be millionaires in their own rights but it sometimes makes me wonder how they achieved it. Salesmenship, planning strategy and execution are all very important tasks. To say nothing says there is not anything happening.Even a token gesture "We have a short list of names for interview" would be better than nothing. I wouldn't work for any of these guys. Too many secrets for starters. Even Domey must know the importance of doing the yusiness. Greenacre was appointed the temporary coaching gig. That means the day Darjie left, they should have started looking. And after 6 weeks still not a squeek. I appreciate they may not wish to make the same mistake twice but next season could very well be our last. Just friggen do something, anything. Do they not want to hang on to the licence?

What are they going to be able to say? Ā press release saying they're still looking isn't going to do much.

I don't want them to make a quick decision, I want them to make the right decision.

Ryan,

Read the post for once, digest it and think about it before you start spamming

Did I say they should make quick decision -  No

And communicating and saying something for current employees, potential employees, clients and sponsors is better then doing nothing

As I said read the post

They have said things though, they've said that Darije has gone, they've said that they're looking for someone else, they've said they'll ideally have someone before the end of the season. That process is ongoing, so I don't know what they can say except to reitterate what they've already said, and what would be the point?

A lot of people are saying "sign someone now", not neccersarily you, you'll see that I didn't quote you in particular (like I did this time) but was really talking to the general tone of the thread.
