What's the story with yellow fever area in the ground when all tix are 'sit where you want'? I have people asking where are we going to meet and sit and it is awfully difficult with no YF zone announced nor any seating plan to work from...

I got my Yellow Fever tickets yesterday - they say Yellow Fever and entrance "gate L Lismore"

any thoughts to having a Yf leaflet drop promoting the game at lunch time friday on the Streets of central Christchurch.
I'm happy to help if you think it's a good idea.

I know , I wanted a couple to put up at work but instead just cut out the advertisement in the paper. I doesnt look like they are doing one for the CHCH game as the one on the nix website is for the next game in Wellington V ccm,

Drop the club an email maybe? Are their the usual bilboards around town advertising the game? They usually use them as the flyers. Thought with it being a home game, same routine would apply. Apparently they see it as not worth as much effort

Signs all over  town, posters all over town and massive trailers sitting down by moorehouse av and a few other streets. We should get a good crowd.  I was at QE2 the other day and i walked in looked left and say an A2 poster up. was nice.Scottishbhoy2010-01-22 13:12:24

sweet! Just weird it hasnt been made into the flyer like they normally would for a welly game. Maybe they need permission from the council for people to be handing them out or something of the like?

I heard from a friend of a friend (so could be absolute rubbish) that it was selling really well and that the Deans stand was almost sold out.  That's 13,000 I think.

As I said it could be rubbish but that's what they were told when they bought their tix.

I let my guitar speak for me

If its a fine night we should push 20 thousand.

We use to get between 14-19 thousands, when the warriors came to town, we got 9 thousand for the semis of the girls under 17 football at qe11.

What's the capacity of the ground at the moment?  I'm not sure what's open, and what's not or what's gone/destroyed.

If 20k is reached well done, and I personally think maybe another game next year (thats if we win) and have next years game earlier on.

Sorry, so all stands are now open?  I thought only one was open.
Assuming you're wrong and only one stand is open, if it sells out would they open another stand?

How many yellowfever from Wellington will actually be going?  Enough to have good singing or will it be an embarassing shambles?  Either way I'm keen.

I've got 8-10 people coming and I've convinced my manager to go as well.  Should be awesome.

I honestly hope the match is a sellout. Even if it means a potential repeat next year, I can't wish anything other than success for the club. It's the least they deserve. I only regret that I can't contribute

A sell out - lets not jump the boat ( the place will only sellour for rwc2011). But its great that in a province so proudly one-eyed and Canterbury Rugby focused, that the first game at the completed stadium is Football.
Even weirder that it will be a yellow & black team, not a red & black team that we will be supporting.
cant wait - And a great crowd turnout will happen.

I've emailed them asking what happens if it sells out etc.

Also asked how many ticks have been sold but doubt they will tell me.

That you're more than likely to get a bigger crowd considering you get one chance to go where as Wellington gets 13.

All about the novelty factor.

Novelty + All Whites going to the World Cup + recent run of good results + Ricki Herbert being freaking awesome = 17 592.

That's my guess anyway.

Mr Incredible - take a deep breath & smile - you'll feel so much better.
ever considered about changing your name to Mr Miserable?

Its true though, if you had an entire season in Chch the crowds would be around what the Phoenix had in their first season. Its all about the novelty. We got bigger Kingz crowds in Wellington than they got in Auckland...

And i think wellington would be stoked with 20k in Chch anyway, so im not too sure why Scottishbhoy is trying to stir

no - my point is that Mr Incredible in previous post's has been miserable about the game being held in ChCh and then dismisses what promises to be an excellent turnout as due to a novelty factor.
Why not just be happy for the Phoenix that the club has this support down here.
Sure - if 13 games were played here in one year the crowds would not potentially be as big as the one coming up but lets celebrate it. It will certainly warrant the clubs decision to come down here and make it more likely to be repeated.
Please do not dismiss the support the club has here.

Unfortunately we are unable to comment on ticket sales, however please note that while only the Dean Stand is available for purchase online, tickets for the Hadlee and Tui stands are available for purchase from Ticketek outlets, and through our call centre on 0800 TICKETEK (0800 842538).

Hope this helps.

To be fair to Mr Incredible he did choose Wellington over Invers (if I recall) because of the 'Nix, and now they're playing where's he's just come from, and can't afford to get back to.

The Tui stand should have been designated the Fever Zone right from day 1. It is by far the best part of the ground, despite being uncovered.
