How about Spearing at Right back, with him just man marking Bale. What's the goss over training? Bet there are eyes out checking what formation we are playing, but haven't been on the .tv or RAWK forums in a while

I agree with pool, I think he will play cara, despite some of his errors. I'm guessing coates will play in the game against brighton? Ease him into it so to speak.

Hoping for stevies return but he's gone quite quiet so I'm guessing he's not ready.

Skrtel is not a good idea at right back. Remember him playing there a couple season ago and he got destroyed (cant remember against who). Weve been lucky so far, he's a good centre back and needs to stay there.

Agree on the forward line of Downing, Suarez and Bellers though, would love to see it. Alota pace and skill there.

It was against Boro and we lost 2-0. There's a reason they're centre-backs. They can't turn quickly enough to play at full-back, and Skrtel is going to struggle against any sort of pace if we play him there. Tough to see who else you could play there though, if Kelly and GJ don't play. Think I would prefer to see Skrtel there ahead of Flanno tbh. And agree, think we will see Carra. Not too keen on that at all, but would rather not chuck Coates in there. Maybe this is the sort of game where we will sit a bit deeper anyway, therefore Carra will be a bit better...

Bellamy looked good in his cameo at Stoke, but think Kuyt is a must in this game if we need protection for the right-back up against Bale.

Downing could be crucial. Really deserves a goal, so come on lad! Dawson is out, which is good for us, although I really wanted Suarez to maul him.

Hopefully Stevie gets a bit of a run out at the end, but we'll see. Promises to be a good game anyhow! Can't wait!

Right Back is definitely key. I was expecting Kelly to be back but seems fairly quiet on that front. Agree, Skrtel > Flanno against Bale. Will definitely need to double up on the right with Lucas or Hendo though that could open up Modric

I wouldn't be surprised if Coates does start, Kenny has shown in the past he will blood young guys if he believes in them.

Looking forward to seeing who 'Arry starts in the E****a Cup tomorrow morning. teret2011-09-15 11:30:47

Here's a touch of "class" from the Liverpool brass.  Eccleston comes across a bit loopy, but holding an investigation over this (and, one suspects, demanding that he remove his comment) is extremely heavy-handed.  The club has a long way to go in showing that what the kid wrote brings them into ill-repute.

Maybe kenny is going to go 3 at the back? Play with wingbacks to try and push lennon and bale back and flood the midfield a bit?

Normally like you Stripes (as you're one of an elite few who come into the Atleti thread every now and then ) but surely you can appreciate what poor form this is. Eccleston is thick as f**k, haha, but considering we are owned by Yanks, have many fans in America etc, surely you can see how this is a bad look. On the 10th Anniversary of it, emotional time for people etc. I do think its average tbh and glad the club have acted on it.

Interesting! Like we did at Chelsea last year? I liked the look of that. But still leaves the problem as to who the right back will be. Apparently Kelly has been training though?

Can't see them risking Kelly too early, especially with Johnson out again. Not out of the question that Kenny will show faith in Robinson again though, he's done it before...

Stevie back for the Brighton game aye

In the UK, the majority believe the official account is likely to be wrong.  In the United States, depending on how you slice it, the view that the 9/11 Commission failed to adequately investigate the attacks is held by as many as 2/3rds of the population.  Europeans (in particular, Germans) are even more sceptical.  Eccleston was voicing (in a confused and distorted way) the views of the majority.  By disciplining him, the club is showing its hostility not only to free speech, but broad layers of the population.

Even from the narrow perspective of marketing, how can this be a 'good look'?

fark! stop passing backwards! keep carroll up top not at left mid and give it to his feet so he can hold it up! Suarez is drifting all over the place so we don't have anyone up top! Got to have 1 option up there!

only 1 down at ht is a miracle
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Im struggling to think how that could have been any worse, more spurs goals i guess but that was very painful. Why is it that when ever carroll on the field, the lads decide to stop moving off the ball.

Skertel having a nightmare but hes outta position, can't help but wish for a fit johnson and stevie
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
is that 1 man down or 1 goal down? Probably both really!

0 shots on target 0 shots off target! We are rubbish atm!
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
I'm really regretting the $50 bet I made with a Spurs fan at work...and the loser has to wear the other persons replica shirt for the day...pain!!

Defence has been awful but Spurs have been outstanding.

Can't see how its gonna change either, havn't got much on the bench to make a diff
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Come on lads, carroll double to win it against the odds

Christ you look poor. Arsenal have always been rubbish at defending (for awhile at least) but it used to be one of your strengths. Now you are all at sea.

Last time I checked you ain't in a position to be a critic!

Hell! Everything Spurs does seems to be at 100mph and beautifully into space or to feet. Any team would struggle against them today (but maybe not quite as bad)

this defending is very hodgson-esque

Adebayor is being a right pain in the ass! He is popping up all over the place creating 2 v 3's. So hard to try and mark him!
